Hi,

I took a full membership in order to get the JW Player Module Advanced.

I reach videos on a remote server from a playlist stored in my own server.
That works if i use http links in my playlist.

I thought that, if i gave the right to write on my video remote server, the module could auto generate the tumbnails from my flv videos. It does not.

So I have 260 videos and I need to make the thumbnails on my own. Boring...

I took the membership also because I thought that i could use rtmp links in my playlist but it does not work eather.

So let me sum up :
I have a XML playlist on my server which calls videos on a remote server by using a rtmp links and i dont have auto generated thumbnails.
It seems that i have to put http links in my xml playlist to make it works but i dont like that at all because if you know a little about web; you can view the source of the page and then reach the xml file and finally download the flv videos by using the direct http link.

So my questions are :
- How can I use rtmp with JW Player Module Advanced ?
- Is it possible to auto generate thumbnails on a remote server for my videos ?

I want to add that i read the tips on the longtailvideo website but i cannot make the rtmp work.

You can use :

1 - By using the Playlist editor (limited to 5 items)

2 - By using a XML playlist (no limit on the numbers Items)

Could you give me the link of your XML file, by mp if you prefer, that i can check the issue.


Is it possible to auto generate thumbnails on a remote server for my videos ?


As i know The JW player from longtail doesn't auto generate thumbnail from the stream file, you have to set for each item in the playlist a link adresse to a preview image.

SOLVED

The issue was an incorrect XML file

here an example of a good one for rtmp stream :
