I'm using CB player advanced to embed a video player in my user profiles (CB 1.2.1). Ideally users would upload their own videos, but for some the files are too big to be uploaded via the front end (8MB upload limit). I would like to be able to FTP a file directly into the user's profile directory.

How could I configure the player to see that file? If I attempt to edit the file selection field in the user's profile from the back-end, my only choice is to upload; I can't just point it to the file that's already there.

Any suggestions?

csolar OFFLINE Fresh Boarder Posts: 10 Karma: 0	Yeah, the ISP imposes an 8MB limit for php upload. It's a shared host and they won't raise the limit (I'd need about 20MB to do the job). I can get this to work if I ftp the file into the user's profile directory, but I have to go into SQL to put the new file name into the cb_plfileup1 field. Not an ideal procedure! Chris.

admin OFFLINE Administrator coding is good Posts: 1943 Karma: 36	Hi, did you try to force this setting in your .htaccess ? open it and add : #######################set php.ini####################### php_value upload_max_filesize "20M" ##################################################### then save an upload on your server.

csolar OFFLINE Fresh Boarder Posts: 10 Karma: 0	...not allowed on my server, apparently. If I add that to .htaccess, it kills the site. Not surprised, since the ISP has explicitly said that 8MB is the limit.

at this point our plugin can't do more for you

the only solution will be to change your isp, because what ever the solution we can add in a simple plugin it will be under a php script for upload file...

the other way will be to add ftp access for your user but this is mean a component affiliate to our plugin, we plan to write a component, it can be a feature, we can investigate this in the future... but not in short term.
